Jim Anderson's Portfolio
Exhibit 1: My Daughter Sarah
Here is my first portfolio submission. It is of one of my daughters, Sarah. She is such a happy and beautiful child, and I feel that I can't take too many photos of her before she grows up. For this photo, I wanted to capture the moment. She was standing in front of me last Friday night and I had my DSLR Canon t5i with a 50mm lens. She was catching the LED canned lighting that I had just installed so nicely that I thought I would see how photorealistic I could get to the moment.
Here you can see the original image. While I really loved the depth of field and bokeh provided by the lens, I didn't love the color of the light on her face when I viewed the photo. It was much warmer than real life. Luckily, I had just learned to adjust colors, exposure, and saturation in Camera Raw, which is what I did. See below:
I also worked on cleaning up the image's pixels and was mostly happy with the result. All in all I would say it is an improvement.
