Exhibit 9: USU Digital Display
My thoughts about this image...
For this image I wanted to remind students that the time to register for classes is right away so that they can get into the classes that they want. This message also helps the school with enrollment and helps the Registrar's Office by having more students get started with registration during Fall Semester.
I wanted to find an image for the background that highlights the beautiful campus that USU sits on and make students consider how much the love the campus so that it will motivate them to register. I selected an aerial shot of campus and then added some banners using shapes that I then filled to make them seem like banners. For the font, I wanted to use a font similar to handwriting so that it felt like a reminder note.
Saturation: I saturated the photo and gave it a bluish hue in true Aggie style. Also just a hint of an inner shadow and an inner glow.
Alignment: I wanted the banners to really catch your eye - but they were too bland when set to a level horizon, so I decided to have them align more with the mountains and that made them jump out at you just so.
Proximity: The image makes you feel that you have a bird's eye view of campus and recalls fond memories that you have had on campus. There is a distance and yet an itimacy at the same time. Also the color helps to make the viewer feel that they are viewing a good memory.
